Interfering factors:
- Acute stress (for example, from surgery or an infection)
- Vigorous exercise
Several drugs may cause glucose intolerance, including the following:

Thiazide diuretics (e.g., hydrochlorothiazide)

Beta-blockers (e.g., propranolol)

Oral contraceptives

Corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone)

Some psychiatric medications
