Blood Gases

Alternate Names : ABG, Arterial Blood Gas Analysis

Definition

Blood gases measure the pH (acidity), oxygen content, and carbon dioxide content of the blood. Usually, blood gases are used to analyze the arterial blood. In rarer cases, venous blood may be used.
