  • Disfigurement from loss of facial movement
  • Damage to the eye (corneal ulcers and infections)
  • Chronic spasm of face muscles or eyelids
  • Chronic taste abnormalities
  • Synkinesis (abnormality in re-innervation of muscles resulting in tears when laughing or inappropriate salivation)
